The right voice makes you seem cool, calm, and confident. Suddenly people will want to pay attention to you. If you long to have a confident voice, here are four habits you need to get rid of.

According to Lisa Popeil, MFA, celebrity voice coach in Los Angeles and founder of Voiceworks, “The truth is that we’re always judged by the quality of our voices, whether we know it or not.”

The fact about it is when you make sound, you make waves in the air and make the hairs in someone’s ear canals move. “You’re affecting someone else’s biology,” Lisa explains. “And if you have a sound that's warm and inviting, people want to be around you.”
One vital thing to remember is the fixes are easy, but if you want to redeem your voice, you need true commitment, as we’ve spoken with no knowledge and no training so you have to adapt to it.
Lisa advises beginners to: “Use your regular voice at home with your friends and family. But when you’re in a business situation, it’s good to be able to push a button and have a professional voice that sounds natural and effective. It takes practice, but it’s worth it.” Now, here are four bad habits to get rid of  to get a great speaking voice:

1.  They aren’t courteous:
“They ask a question and, as someone tries to  answer it, they start talking again,” Lisa explains. “Instead, listen and look at them — it seems so simple, but a lot of high-energy, ‘alpha’ guys can benefit because people love listeners.” By the way, alpha is just a subtle way of saying the actual word, annoying.
2. They are obnoxious:
A loud voice is a bad voice. “It’s better to err on the side of sounding sexy with a little bit of air in your voice and on the soft side — in an enticing way, not in a quiet way — because it makes people  come to you,” according to Lisa.
3. They are too speedy:
“When people are too tired or over-adrenalized, they chat really fast to try to wake themselves up,” Lisa adds. “Pauses are a powerful element in effective speaking. When you take a pause […] you let the listener have the opportunity to hear and process what you just said. If you just keep going, however, it can become overwhelming.” Breathe just before you speak, not only after you speak. The sound will have more air in it. “We’re breath instruments, not string or percussion instruments,” Lisa says. “So we have to take extra air in to make the vocal chords work and to speak in long flowing ways.”
4. They speak too low:
Some guys act like they have a deep voice, mostly around ladies, when they really have a super high pitched voice. “Finding the perfect pitch to speak at is also important,” Lisa explains. “It should feel like it’s coming straight through your lips and you should feel like your lips, gums, or teeth are tingling. If you speak too low, however, you’ll sound like you’re talking through your throat.”
Try this useful trick to add more weight to your words: Put your hand between your upper chest and your collarbone. Then focus on getting that area to vibrate. When it vibrates, there’s more depth, which means a mature voice. “You don’t have to sound like that all the time,” Lisa adds, “but it helps when you need some extra umph.”
If you can try to fix these issues, you’ll have a much stronger and effective voice. Let us know of any more ideas that you may have.
