Tinubu ‘Resigns’; Dumps Title as APC National Leader (Press Statement)   On Sunday, September 25, 2016, Bola Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State and the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, issued a statement in which he repudiated the national chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun. In the statement, Senator Tinubu rejected the title of national leader of the party saying that the chairman, Oyegun had betrayed the ideals of the party and called for his resignation. He accused the APC chairman of orchestrating rigging in the Ondo guber primary and working to circumvent the will of the people of APC by abusing his powers as chairman of the ruling party.
