Grand Hotel Prishtina – Pristina, Kosovo




The marquee hotel in in Kosovo’s capital isn’t so “grand” anymore. During the brutal Balkan Wars of the 90’s, Serbian militants used the hotel as a place for the torture and execution of their prisoners. Their Trip Adviser rating took quite the hit.

Sport   |   Football    Platini demands CAS reasoning for four year ban Former UEFA president Michel Platini has demanded that the Court for Arbitration of Sport (CAS) explain the reasoning behind their decision to ban him for four years from all activities relating to football. Originally banned for eight years, reduced to six on appeal, Platini took further court action in May and had the ban cut to four. But Platini’s lawyers say they still have not been told why the decision was made. In a letter addressed to CAS, the former French footballer’s lawyers demanded an explanation “in as brief a time as possible” and branded CAS’s behaviour “unacceptable”. Platini was sentenced over a 1.8 million euros (2 million Swiss francs, $2 million) payment made to him by Sepp Blatter in 2011.

Buratai The Nigerian Army on Thursday inaugurated a Special Court Martial to try two of its officers for undisclosed offences. The Judge advocate, Col. Ibrahim Musa, administered the oath on the President of the Special Court Martial, Air Vice-Marshal James Gbum and three others. Musa said that the purpose of the special court was to try two of army officers, Maj.-Gen. Ibrahim Sanni and Maj.-Gen. Patrick Falola. Reading the conveying order for the court from the Chief of Army Staff, Musa said “by the power conferred on me by Lt.-Gen.
